In search of scrapmetal in NO56.
While recording material in the down-to-the-studs-under- complete-renovation old NBMAA building for another series of soundwalks, I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to pick over several piles and boxes of scrap pieces of aluminum studs and other metallic refuse to hopefully find pieces that could be used as found-object instruments. These scrap pieces were used during the performance of our 08.31.06 previews and the recorded rummaging process was used in the construction of this little diddy.
