These soundwalks allow us to document the aural environment of a particular place at a particular time; a kind of soundscape history. The listening experiences these soundwalks offer are varied. All operate from the premise that there are the blatantly obvious elements found in any given soundscape, and through careful and possibly repeated listening, the more subtle relationships and interactions of sounds and noises will emerge.

 

In this first soundwalk, we explore the respiratory system of the new NBMAA shortly after it was started up for the first time.
