Old Gallery Soundwalk 02
This is the second in a set of soundwalks that were recorded prior to the old NBMAA building, the Landers House, being gutted and readied for renovation.
In particular, it is the extinct sounds: the creaky floors, the elevator and the ambience of the former gallery spaces that attracts me to this soundwalk.
Also, the casual conversation of a docent and several museum-goers viewing one of the last shows to be mounted in the Landers House and the seemingly omnipresent sound of the ventilation system continue to capture my interest.
In this photo you can see into one of the gallery spaces from this soundwalk - including the elevator - after demolition had begun.
